UGC ads: turn one buying objection into a clear story

Plan UGC-style advertising around a specific customer question, believable evidence and one next step.

Start with the job

Start with the objection that stops a purchase. “Will it fit on my desk?” gives you a useful visual task. “Everyone needs this” gives you very little to demonstrate. A focused objection also makes variations easier to compare.

A practical example

For a compact desk lamp, show the lamp beside a laptop, demonstrate the hinge and finish with a close-up of the controls. Record actual dimensions. Keep the room, offer and landing page consistent while testing two openings.

Illustrative brief, not a customer result or generated product output.

Build your brief

  • Question. Choose one objection from sales or support conversations.
  • Evidence. Film the relevant feature in a realistic setting.
  • Destination. Send viewers to the matching product and offer.

Review before publishing

Change one major idea at a time. Keep notes on the opening, demonstration and audience. If both the offer and creative change, you cannot confidently attribute the difference to the video.

Keep the brief beside the finished creative. You should be able to point to the fact, image or product behaviour behind each statement. Save the approved version with its caption so later edits do not undo the review.
