Clarify the service
Producing files for a client and operating the client’s account are different responsibilities. Agree who approves, publishes, responds to comments and resolves access problems. Keep account ownership with the appropriate client rather than making it depend on a freelancer’s personal login.
Use a per-account record
Record the brand, destination, permitted team members and approval owner. Attach each post to the correct account before scheduling. Similar campaign names and shared asset folders make mistakes easier, so use unambiguous labels.
Close the loop at handoff
When a project ends, export the agreed work, review outstanding scheduled posts and remove access through the platform’s supported controls. Document what remains live. A clear exit process is part of responsible account management.
Your next brief
Put these decisions in writing before you start production. A short brief gives the creator and reviewer the same standard to work towards. Keep the approved source material with the final file so the next version can build on the work rather than start again.
- Ownership. Identify who controls the account.
- Approval. Attach sign-off to the exact destination.
- Exit. Resolve queued work and permissions.
