Attribution assigns credit

Attribution links an outcome to recorded touchpoints under a chosen rule. It does not prove that the post caused the purchase. A person might see a video, search for the brand later and buy on another device. Your available data may capture only part of that path.

Separate the milestones

Report views, site visits, sign-ups and purchases as separate measures. State the reporting window and attribution model where available. Use customer feedback and controlled experiments when you need stronger evidence than a dashboard can provide. Postroven does not currently offer connected attribution analytics.

Your next brief

Put these decisions in writing before you start production. A short brief gives the creator and reviewer the same standard to work towards. Keep the approved source material with the final file so the next version can build on the work rather than start again.

  • Naming. Use a documented campaign convention.
  • Events. Define what counts as a completed action.
  • Limits. Explain missing paths and reporting assumptions.
