Verify the production route

OpenAI lists 24 September 2026 as the shutdown date for the Sora 2 models and Videos API. As of this guide’s review on 6 September, that date is still ahead. Avoid building a new long-term campaign workflow around a service scheduled for removal; recheck the official notice before any use.

Write a controllable brief

Preserve the creative brief, source references and approved exports independently of a provider. This makes it possible to evaluate another production route without losing the campaign’s factual basis.

A sample shot to evaluate

A tabletop product scene with one camera movement and no generated text. Use it as a portable test brief for an available video model.

This is a proposed test, not a result generated or benchmarked by Postroven. Keep the prompt, input references and provider settings together so a reviewer can reproduce the evaluation.

Inspect the exported result

  • Identity. Compare people and objects with the approved references.
  • Motion. Look for impossible contact, disappearing parts or broken continuity.
  • Text. Inspect labels and any lettering that affects the message.
  • Meaning. Check whether the scene implies a product result you cannot substantiate.

Cost the complete workflow

Count the generations and revisions required for an approved shot, then add editing and audio work. Do not compare models solely by a promotional rate or a single attractive output. For a product demonstration, original footage may remain the clearest and most accurate option.
